Spring 2015 ~ Re-build of Historic Silo Roof - (Privately Owned ~ Not open to Public) This is an exact twin to the silo roof below. Where as the first roof was built at our shop, dismantled and reassembled at the site, we chose to build the second on site. Both were hoisted atop the silos with a crane. We also re-roofed the historic maintenance shed on the same property. Both projects used the Western Red Taper Sawn Shingles. We have worked on the majority of the buildings on this property.
Project~ Re-build of Historic Silo Roof - (Privately Owned ~ Not open to Public)
The first picture was what remained of the original silo roof. With only old photos, historic specs and what was left of the silo roof, a new one was constructed. The silo roof was transported to it's new home in St. Mary's County Maryland. With the use of a crane it was placed atop the silo. It can be seen from miles around.
